Employment Counselling

With the personalized, one-on-one support of an Employment Counsellor, we can help you to achieve your job search, career development, and training goals.

We are able to serve you in-person or virtually, but ask that you contact us first at the numbers on the bottom of this page, or click this LINK for more details. We will work with you to provide help according to your needs.

If you are unemployed or working fewer than 20 hours per week (or if your current employment is unstable or unsustainable), not currently in school, and legally entitled to work in Canada, you may be eligible for:

  • Financial supports for Skills Training (post-secondary school)
  • Financial supports for short term courses, like First Aid, Foodsafe, or Serving It Right
  • Workshops for Job Searching, Resumes, Cover Letters, Interviews & more
  • Career Assessments
  • Specialized Assessments
  • Job Start supports (equipment, clothing or transportation for a new job)
  • Self-Employment Services to support you while you start a business
  • Work experience placement services such as Wage Subsidy, Customized Employment, or job creation partnerships

Eligibility for these services is variable, and it is assessed according to each person’s needs, so it's best to talk to us if you have questions.

People with disabilities may be eligible for additional supports, and single parents who receive income or disability assistance may be eligible through the BC Single Parent Employment Initiative.
