The Port Alberni Port Authority has been approved for funding under the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and invites applications for seasonal summer employment for 8 weeks  beginning June 11, 2018  to August 4th, 2018  and working at Clutesi Haven Marina, Fisherman's Harbour and/or China Creek Campground 

The positions available are for four (4) Seasonal Groundskeeper Attendants 

Groundskeeper Attendant duties include but are not limited to: daily marina and campground quality checks and cleanup, pressure washing walkways, ramps and floats, painting, washroom facility cleanliness, general grounds keeping, collecting and emptying garbage bins, maintaining campsites, attending to gardens, lawns and shrubs, grounds within the park and parking lots at marinas. 

 

Qualifications 

Successful applicants should be team oriented with an outgoing personality, enjoy working with the public and have the ability to deal professionally with all users of the marina facilities. This is a fast paced working environment, which includes working outdoors.

Under the qualifications of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, applicants must have been registered as a full-time student, in the previous academic year, be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resider and is legally entitled to work in Canada. The position is 30 hours of work per week, and the rate of pay is $13.73/hour.

General knowledge of the Alberni Inlet, previous experience and knowledge of Port Authority marinas and China Creek Campground will be considered assets. 

Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays and be flexible in assigned work schedules.

Applicants must possess a valid BC driver's license, and have reliable transportation.
