POSITION: Student Summer Position – Curriculum Assistant

REPORTING TO: VP Administration

MISSION STATEMENT OF PCU-WHS
The University is a statutory not-for-profit post-secondary degree granting and research institution for the special purpose of disseminating and creating new knowledge including applied research in the fields of workplace safety, health, disability management, and rehabilitation and disability leadership studies. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

  • Provides support to the Instructional Designer and Curriculum Coordinator by assisting with a variety of curriculum projects including:

– data entry for the University curriculum search and mapping website
– compiling and analyzing completed course evaluation reports for all programs
– creating online support resources for students and faculty

  •  Researching resources such as books, articles, publications, and websites in specific topic areas that may be used by curriculum developers and as resources for courses
  •  Assist in finding relevant online rich media (video, audio, etc.) for use in online courses
  •  Assist with editing and reviewing documents such as course study guides and manuals
  •  Compile survey/feedback results
  •  Assist with the onsite delivery of summer course
  •  Ensure confidentiality
  •  Other duties as assigned
Qualifications 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Second or third year university student
  • Ability to perform research
  • Ability to proofread, edit and review documents; requires excellent English and good writing skills
  • Ability to work with a database and/or Excel spreadsheet
  • Ability to work with information and communications technology
  • Previous experience working in an office environment
  • Experience with a learning management system such as Moodle and a content management system such as WordPress would be an asset
