Job Purpose:

As a Grocery Clerk (Dairy) with the Tofino Co-op you will be responsible for delivering personalized customer service while ordering, pricing, stocking and rotating merchandise. At the Tofino Co-op we strive to deliver a high performance image by insuring that the department is neat, clean, and well merchandised.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
  • Be dependable for all scheduled shifts
  • Provide outstanding courteous customer service
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all Tofino Co-op policies and procedures
  • Ensure the store and warehouse is neat, clean, and well merchandised at all times
  • Accurately record markups and markdowns, in-store use of merchandise, and handle recalls in accordance with Company policies
  • Assist in general stock duties, including filling shelves and facing
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces
  • Perform ordering and receiving duties when required
  • Unload trucks and transport merchandise to department, requires heavy lifting
  • May be required to operate till
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications 

Qualifications:
  • A secondary school diploma is preferred
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Previous retail experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous cash handling skills is considered an asset

Working conditions:

Flexible, must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, evenings as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs

Physical requirements
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours
  • Physically demanding; frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs
