As our Wedding Sales & Catering Manager, you will create the "one stop shop" for corporate, wedding and other social event guests wishing to make the most of their special event at our full-service, oceanside resort. 

Our resort is host to many small to medium size weddings in the summer and off season. We’re also a popular spot for conferences throughout the year and many holiday parties starting from mid November. Overall, we are a year-round conference facility with a few waves of peak business levels.

You will be the main point of contact for events clients, providing personalized customer service from start to finish.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Developing and capturing increased wedding, corporate conferences and and social event business through new activities and by actively following up on existing inquiries to meet monthly sales targets.
  • Conducting and setting up virtual and/ on site tours to showcase the resort to  potential clients.
  • Overseeing wedding planners, vendors and the banquets team on the day(s) of the event to ensure smooth execution of events and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Networking, collaborating and maintaining positive working relationships with all of our preferred wedding vendors.
  • Developing, refining and implementing action plans for maximize revenues for corporate, social and wedding markets.
  • Managing catering events, up-selling where appropriate to assist in achieving hotel revenue targets.
  • Gathering and confirming all information pertaining to the event, organized and distributed all information to internal hotel departments through reservations, memos, banquet event orders, resumes and rooming lists, etc.
  • Mentoring, leading and supervising the Events Assistant and Events Servers. 
  • Controlling food and labour costs effectively. 
  • Developing/maintaining knowledge of market trends, competition and customers. Attending community/social events and industry meetings.
  • Resolving guest and client complaints when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to build a seamless and impressive overall Guest experience.

Qualifications 
  • Hospitality Management Degree or a Post Secondary Degree preferred.
  • Experience as Wedding Coordinator, Catering or Conference Services Manager, with a passion for Weddings.
  • Extensive Food and Beverage knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong drive to provide quality service to our internal and external customers.
  • Assertive, self-starter, self-motivator with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Able to enjoy working in a busy environment with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of Event Temple, RDP ( or similar property management systems), and Canva an asset. Word and Windows based programs.
  • Demonstrated sales leadership abilities.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
