Literacy Alberni Society is seeking a Program Coordinator for its Klitsa Tutoring Program. The Klitsa Tutoring Program is a cornerstone for educational support in the Alberni Valley and supports all academic learners from K-12, youth and adults in post-secondary training, retraining, and certification programs.

The successful applicant for this position will undergo a Police Information Check and receive on-the-job training during a probationary period of 3 months, after which hours and rate of pay will be increased to meet program needs, and employee benefits will commence.

During the school year, the primary work shift for the Klitsa Tutoring Program Coordinator commences in the early afternoon and ends in the early evening, depending on the tutoring schedule. It is the responsibility of the Klitsa Tutoring Program Coordinator to oversee all aspects of the Klitsa Tutoring Program, including:

Learners & Clients

  • Intake and placement with appropriate tutoring staff
  • Maintain client/parent relationships
  • Maintain filing and digital systems.

Tutors 

  • Hiring and referencing appropriate teaching staff
  • Scheduling
  • Supporting payroll
  • Maintain filing and digital systems

Sponsoring Agencies

  • Maintain relationship and partnership with agencies
  • Maintain communication and sponsor contracts
  • Monthly invoicing

Finances

  • Receive and document account payments from clients and agencies
Qualifications 

Klitsa Tutoring Program Coordinator Minimum Competencies:

  • Independent use of computer & productivity software, including MS Office Suite, G-suite email systems, Client Management Systems (CMS).
  • Experience and training in Education, with knowledge of learning differences, K-12 curriculum, and overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Able to work within agency documentation systems and maintain accurate paper and digital filing.
  • Demonstrate time and task management efficiency and professional communication skills
  • Dedication to and passion for motivating lifelong learning.
