We are a before and after school child care program based out of Maquinna School. We guide and care for children ages kindergarten to grade 7 (6-12 years old). Our philosophy is largely based around primary caregiver model, with a strong emphasis on nature, animals, plants and mentoring children to becoming connected and thoughtful community members. There is an opportunity for more hours during professional days and school breaks.
The right person must love children and have outstanding tolerance for all the unique, beautiful and challenging stages that this age range requires. The right person must have a philosophy that harmonizes with Fern Valley’s, able mind and body to experience the forest and outside year-round, willing to explore and develop our program based on their contributions. A growth mindset is also an asset to the small team.
