Human Resources Manager

Organization Overview

PAACL, a registered non-profit since 1957 and has been the cornerstone of advocacy and support for individuals with diverse abilities and their families in the Alberni Valley for over 65 years.

Position Overview

This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for oversight and day-to-day management of the full spectrum of human resource functions within the organization. The responsibilities will span various HR functions such as recruitment and retention strategies, training and development, compensation and job evaluation, pay and benefit administration, human resources information system input, succession planning, occupational health and safety, attendance management, disability and performance management, and consistency with all legal and statutory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and direct HR operations in alignment with PAACL policies and external standards
  • Develop HR policies and procedures for approval.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive long-term HR planning and administration.
  • Act as the point of contact for HR related issues.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on HR matters.
  • Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead hiring, operational planning, and priority setting.
  • Oversee payroll processes to ensure accurate management of employee data and records.

This part time position averages 30 hours a week. Salary Range: $59,500 to $62,500.

Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience in senior HR management roles.
Or a combination of education and experience.

Successful Criminal Record Search under the Criminal Records Review Program
Valid B.C. Driver’s license
