The InnChanter is a unique, floating bed and breakfast located at anchor in the Ucluelet harbourWe are an accommodation option for groups of 8-12 in Ucluelet. The vessel is boat access only (5 minute short trip from Ucluelet marina) Our vessel offers groups an unforgettable off-grid experience with gourmet meals, recreational activities – sauna and kayaks, and classic west coast hospitality.

 

Position Overview

We're seeking a personable, self-sufficient, and highly capable Relief Innkeeper to step in for
the regular innkeeper during a few select periods throughout the summer. This is a hands-on,
guest-facing role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, hospitality-focused environment
and enjoys working independently.

This role is ideal for someone looking for the flexibility of only a few select dates during the
summer. Approximate 4-10 days working per month,
 

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for guest groups during your shift. Providing checkin/
checkout, meals, and water taxi rides.
• Operate the water taxi to transport guests to and from the vessel (boating proficiency an
asset, but SVOP training will be provided)
• Prepare and serve daily meals (coffee/tea, breakfast and dinner; dessert). No kitchen
experience necessary. Majority of the position is daily food prep.
• Maintain cleanliness and order aboard the vessel, including guest cabins, common
areas, and kitchen
• Ensure a warm, welcoming atmosphere and deliver exceptional guest service
• Manage basic operational needs of the vessel during your shift

Qualifications 

 

• Hospitality experience or strong customer service background is an asset
• Cooking skills: ability to prepare meals for large groups (10–12 people). Training
provided
• Boating proficiency: Is an asset but will provided training if needed
• Physically capable of lifting, cleaning, and performing active work aboard a boat
• Friendly, resourceful, and comfortable living and working in a remote, off-grid setting
• Availability for multiple 2–4 day shifts over the course of the summer. Dates to be
discussed prior to hiring.
