Market Gardener

We are hiring an enthusiastic and reliable Market Gardener for an 8-week Canada Summer Jobs position, starting immediately. This hands-on role includes assisting with field operations, helping maintain crop quality, and supporting the team’s day-to-day workflow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with planting, watering, weeding, and general vegetable crop maintenance in the field.
• Help with seeding, harvesting and packaging operations with a focus on accuracy and quality.
• Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks, share resources, plan, and solve problems effectively.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Must be willing to learn to operate a walk-behind tractor and use a wheelbarrow efficiently.
• Experience in greenhouse or vegetable farming is an asset.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions including rain.
• Must be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment, as per Canada Summer Jobs program guidelines.
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• Must have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
