Prep Cook

-An experienced prep cook with basic kitchen skills (knife skills, understanding of commercial equipment, confidence in the basic principles of kitchen etiquette)

-Someone looking for part-time work, 15-20 hours a week. Must be available MORNINGS 2-3 days a week. The days we are looking for are either Wednesday, Friday, Sunday OR Wednesday & Sunday OR Wednesday & Saturday
-For the right candidate, there may be additional hours working as a line cook, if interested.
-Someone who works well with others and has a positive attitude
-has an interest in learning Japanese ingredients. 

-Someone who can commit to a minimum 3-month contract

-Someone who demonstrates communication skills and is open and willing to ask questions and take direction

-Persons who are interested in growing with us and participating in fun pop-ups and events in different cities

What we offer:

-We are a Living Wage certified business. Clayoquot Sound’s calculated living wage is $26.50 an hour. (Benefit calculations are factored into this wage.)
fully paid medical benefits. This includes mental health, dental, RMT +++
-We offer evenly split tips based on hours worked. Tips average out to an additional $8–$18 an hour, based on how busy we are. (That is an extra $160-$400 a week for part-time staff)
-Your wage would start at $22 an hour and be raised to $24.50 after probation period + benefits (wage + benefits = $26.50 an hour). Probation period may be waived for the right candidate.
-Transparency and a supportive work environment

-Staff trips (previous trips included boat adventures, Victoria trips, and Vancouver trips)
-Experience in new environments and spaces. We often are asked to do pop-ups in Vancouver or Victoria at other restaurants or events, we pay all expenses + your time to come participate in these events.
