About Us:
Roy Henry Vickers Gallery is an artist-owned gallery and cultural landmark in Tofino, celebrating over 38 years of art and storytelling. The space itself is modelled after a traditional Northwest Coast longhouse and features Roy’s striking prints, carvings, and cedar-planked walls. We attract visitors from around the world to connect with art, Indigenous culture, and the stories that define this coastal region.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a professional sales representative who will facilitate art sales and play a key role in the day to day operations in the gallery. The successful candidate will have a passion for the arts, basic computer skills, strong communication and organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a willingness to work in a small team environment.
Employment Details:
This is a full-time, year-round position, 4 or 5 days negotiable, 7 hrs daily with a 45 min paid lunch break.
Gallery hours are 10am – 5pm daily.
Candidate must be available to work on weekends - non negotiable.
Starting wage $22/hr
Housing/Accommodation is not provided with this position, housing must be secured prior to interview.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a confident and friendly individual with a positive team mindset.
A genuine passion for art is essential, however in-depth knowledge of the wider art world is not required.
Previous experience in customer service and sales is preferred, though previous art sales experience not essential.
Candidates should possess basic computer and administration skills, as well as the ability to multitask.
The position requires some light gallery housekeeping, ability to left boxes (sometimes up to 40 lbs.) when unloading orders.
The ideal candidate will be dependable, responsible, trustworthy, and professional.
