Job description:

Duties

  • Assist customers with selecting liquor, wine, and spirits, offering knowledgeable recommendations and product demos when appropriate
  • Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Maintain attractive product displays through merchandising and stocking efforts to maximize sales potential
  • Upsell complementary products such as mixers, glassware, or specialty items to enhance customer purchases
  • Ensure compliance with all legal age restrictions by verifying IDs and practicing responsible sales procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, addressing concerns, and maintaining a friendly attitude
  • Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves and organizing stock in the backroom to ensure product availability

Requirements

  • Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or beverage outlets
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures for smooth transactions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in both English and bilingual settings if applicable
  • Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are a plus for team collaboration
  • Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, pricing, and inventory management accurately
  • Excellent phone etiquette for handling inquiries professionally over the phone
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management practices
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and proactive approach to upselling and product demos
