Founded in 2003, Chocolate Tofino is built on a legacy of fresh, hand-crafted chocolates, with the highest quality ingredients and fine flavour cacao. Our handmade Gelato and Sorbet is also made fresh in-house, from whole ingredients.

We are deeply committed to sustainability and chocolate ethics. Our fine flavour cacao is thoughtfully sourced from South America and our fresh ingredients are purchased from local families and farms.

We’re looking for someone to join our Team to make the best homemade Gelato ever, support the team, and serve the community!

Job Description:

The Gelato Production Team is the backbone of Chocolate Tofino’s ability to provide our customers with the best Gelato we can make. We are a family run small business and value integrity, honesty, and an eye for detail and quality.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains high standards and production quantities.
• Accurately measures and scales a variety of ingredients and follows recipes exactly.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment; able to plan ahead, meet deadlines and keep store stocked at all times.
• Keeps a clean and organized kitchen at all times.
• Actively keeps track of inventory and ingredients and competently places supplier orders.
• Willing to go above and beyond to satisfy customer requests and orders.
• Loves to learn new things and improve skills; accepts correction well.
• Contributes to a positive team morale and supports team members.
• Lifts up to 45lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
• Daily Gelato room and machine cleaning.
• Demonstrates integrity, honesty, and knowledge to promote the core values of Chocolate Tofino’s culture.
• Passion for our brand and products!

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience or training in gelato an asset, but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and work ethic.
• Proficient with numbers and basic calculations for estimating production requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Positive and caring approach to all team members.
• Experience in the restaurant industry an asset.
• Ability to work well under high-volume production pressures.
• Skilled in efficient time management; has the ability to plan and manage a production schedule in the kitchen.
• Skilled at working with a team and also able to focus and work alone.
• FoodSafe Level 1 an asset but not necessary.
• Must have accommodation in Tofino or Ucluelet and reliable transportation.
