Shelter Manager

Job Summary:

Under the directive of the Executive/ Deputy Director, the Shelter Manager provides supports to our staff & clients, including but not limited to managing the day-to-day operations, mentoring & evaluating program delivery, ensuring a safe supportive and respectful environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Database entry.
• Client intake.
• Case planning (including making referrals, maintaining client’s appointments).
• Other relevant tasks as determined by management

Qualifications:

• Minimum Human Service Worker Diploma (2 year) and or combination of education and experience.
• Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Current Criminal Records Check.
• Naloxone training and knowledge surrounding trauma informed care practices/non-violent crisis intervention & suicide prevention

• Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and funding requirements
• Collaboration with community partners and service providers
• Motivational interviewing training considered an asset
